Documents read
The exact list, not a big number.
A headline number does not tell you whether your country and your document are covered. We publish the list of what our engine really reads, at what level, and of what it does not read.
Why a list rather than a number
- A number does not tell you whether *your* country and *your* document are covered.
- A number does not say at what level: fields read, MRZ checked, chip authenticated.
- A document missing from the list is not a decline: the capture is accepted and the verification is left to your team.
- The list carries its date. When it changes, the date changes.
The three levels of reading
Fields read
The printed information is read and compared with itself and with the declared data.
MRZ checked
The machine-readable zone is read, its check digits are recalculated, and its fields are compared with the printed ones.
Chip authenticated
The contactless chip authenticates the document cryptographically. Not available yet: see "what is not here yet".
Countries and documents
The country-by-country table is being prepared: it will be published from the measurements of the engine, not from an estimate. Write to us to find out where a given country or document stands.
