The European identity wallet and the AMLR are coming. What changes for your verifications

Sanno

Mobility

Know who you are handing the keys to.

A branch with no counter, a car unlocked with a phone, a driver who signed up online: nobody sets eyes on the paperwork any more. Sanno verifies the driver's identity from photos taken live, before the vehicle is handed over.

Four moments where the vehicle changes hands

Between the account being opened and the vehicle coming back, the person at the wheel may no longer be the one you verified. Here is where to look.

  1. When the account is opened

The risk An account created remotely with someone else's identity document.

The control Identity document photographed live, printed fields and MRZ read, check digits recalculated, validity dates checked, selfie compared with the photo on the document.

  2. When a driver joins your platform

The risk An account lent or sold on, and someone else at the wheel during the ride.

The control A verification can be run again whenever you decide: selfie and a challenge of randomly drawn head movements, verified frame by frame on our servers. A suspicious capture goes to human review.

  3. When the keys are handed over, with no counter

The risk Paperwork emailed the day before, that nobody really looks at.

The control No attachment, no PDF: every document is photographed during the verification. From a computer, a QR code moves the capture to the phone.

  4. After an unpaid bill or a vehicle not returned

The risk The same person coming back under another account, and an empty file when you have to show what you checked.

The control The same document presented on two accounts is flagged for review. The file stays available with its photos, its data read and its reasons as codes, in a chained audit log.

What you need to know about the driver

Who takes the wheel

Official identity document read front and back, selfie compared with the photo on the document, movement challenge verified frame by frame. The discrepancies found go to your team's queue, and your team decides.

Where the driver lives

Proof of address photographed live, read, compared with the declared address, with a match score whose threshold you set. The age of the document is checked.

The driving licence

The licence is photographed live, like the other documents: the capture is accepted and its verification is left to your team. We search no government records and we do not rule on whether a licence is valid.

A driver you have already turned away

When the same identity document appears again on a new account, both files are flagged for review. It is for you to decide whether the account can reopen.

For your drivers

  • A guided flow on the phone, done before arriving or from the car park.
  • The frame turns green when the photo is sharp, whole and well lit.
  • Nothing to scan, nothing to send: the document is presented in front of the lens.
  • At the end, they return to your app or your site automatically.

For your branch and your fraud team

  • The verifications to review in your dashboard, with the photos, the data read and the reasons.
  • An analysis time you set, from immediate to 72 h, depending on whether the driver is waiting at the desk or booking for next week.
  • Distinct roles — owner, administrator, compliance analyst and read-only — and a chained audit log.
  • The result and your team's decision by signed webhook, straight into your booking system.

What we will not tell you about the licence

We read and compare what is on the photo. We search no government records, we do not rule on whether a licence is valid, and every approval is decided by your team. Short-term rental, free-floating fleets, driver sign-up: describe your flow, and a sandbox lets you simulate every outcome before going live.
